Easy Peasy

One of my favorite things to do is make things, whether I fully know what I'm doing or not. So, I decided a little while ago to try that black-canvas-scrapbook-flower thing I had seen alllll over Pinterest. It turned out pretty okay, but I wasn't attached to it or anything. My friend had just moved into a new house, and I figured eh, I'll give it to her so she has something to put on her walls. I wrapped it up all cute for Christmas and was all excited to give it to her, and put it in a neat little pile with the pther presents for my friends and family. Well, it was on the floor, and next to my closet. Instead of moving the canvas to open the door, someone decided to open the door OVER the canvas, this scratching it. I didn't even know it was scratched until I realized I didn't have a picture of it, unwrapped it, and saw to my horror white scratches on a black canvas. I started to paint over the scratches with black paint, but since I had put a coat of glossy mod podge over the whole thing, now there were black matte lines over a black glossy canvas.
WELL I have never painted on a canvas in my life, but I decided I was about to. I had no other choice. So here is the finished product.
I think it turned out decently alright! Better than I thought it would, anyway, and better than I think it did before.
It just goes to show you that sometimes, you've got to take a few creative risks, because no one remembers everything that goes right all the time. The times everyone remembers and laughs about later are the ones that went wrong. Those are where you end up making the memories :)
